Hit songs released after death

There are lots of songs out there in the musicsphere. Normally, a song is recorded, released and then promoted by the artist. Then there are those like these, ones released after the death of the artist.

They have either died from an accident, illness, overdose, you name it, but, the song was finished for release after the artist had passed on to join the great band in the sky.

Here are a few that made my list, add yours as you feel fit through messages and comments.

Me and Bobby McGee by Janis Joplin. Released Jan 11, 1971. Janis died October 4, 1970.

The next one is (Sitting On) The Dock of The Bay by Otis Redding. Released January 8, 1968. Otis died on December 10, 1967.

Here is one more. You Got It by Roy Orbison. Released February 7, 1989. Orbison died December 6, 1988.

there are so many more that could be listed here. Jim Croce, John Lennon, Tupac, The Carpenters, all released music after the death of either the artist or someone in the band.

May they all Rest In Peace, and may their music live on through us.
