b side of the day

It’s songs like Son of a Preacher man by Dusty Springfield that take you away to another era when singers could sing, not scream like they do now. It’s b sides like this one “Just a Little Lovin” that reinforce just how good she was. Rarely is a b side listenable to, especially all the way through.

Another great song of the sixties by the songwriting team of Weil – Mann. While the Dusty Springfield version is the one I put on here, it is not the original. The original version was recorded earlier in 1968 by Lana Cantrell.

Just in case you need to know what else these two wrote…try these two on for size. “Soul and Inspiration” and “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling”, both hit #1 for The Righteous Brothers.
